Hints for Historic Boaters no. 453*

Choose a face flannel in a dark colour, preferably grey or black. A white one will only make you feel worried.
Even after washing it in Persil.

  1. When David and I did our mad nine-week dash around the network in 2005 the kitchen towel turned a very dark colour. Learning from that I bought a black towel, now known as the boat towel.
