CHERTSEY

Stopping here

Ah, the delightful ambiguities of the English language. 'Stopping', of course, (among other things) can mean either staying or ceasing.

I really did want to use the Rivetcounter blog, not least for reasons which will shortly become apparent. I was torn, because I didn't want to abandon the Chertsey blog. But in the end, Blogger decided it for me. I just could not format Rivetcounter in the way I wanted to.

What I can do with this one is very limited (as it's a legacy template long since retired by Blogger) - most notably, I can't change the colour, very much as I would like to - but it's simple and familiar so I've given it a little refresh for the next five years. I couldn't resist crowbarring in the Rivetcounter strapline though (see above).

Today marks the fifteenth anniversary of my very first blog post, on April 1st 2006. It wasn't on this blog, but here, on Warrior. This is my 2435th post. And it won't be the last. I'm here to stay, and I'm staying here.

For now.

  1. I'm happy that you are to carry on blogging in preference to any other platform (which I don't follow anyway).
Just one thing, in the revised strapline I see one of your likes is 'solitide'.
    Perhaps that's a typographical error?
    Regards.

  3. I'm glad you're sticking with the blog, Sarah. Over the last few days I've been binge-catching up (all the way from January or February). Now I have just remembered: I was going to comment on another of your posts ...
