So, this is what I do in the day job

I teach these people. I support them. I design the modules and courses that get them onto and through degree programmes. I do research into how best to do this effectively, and the impacts it has on people. I campaign against threats to this sort of provision.

I am very proud of what I do.

It takes up an awful lot of my time.

  1. In my pre retirement job I was very actively involved in the logistics of awards days. It was a great time to see the joy and pride of the parents. I often drove one of the minibuses so I could engage with them and hear their stories. It was a very rewarding time as your post suggests. Now like the best tag teams Rachel is a senior lecturer at the same Uni and will no doubt be on the stage clapping her students across.
